Nature of the service
Apu Aventura is a tour operator that organizes and directly operates its tours, treks and experiences in the Cordillera Blanca and the Huayhuash, with certified in-house guides and its own equipment.
For services provided by third parties and not under the direct control of Apu Aventura — transport, mountain assistant services, freelance guides, hotel accommodation, or other services contracted at the client’s request — Apu Aventura acts as an intermediary and assumes no responsibility for delays, schedule changes, losses, injuries or damages caused by those transport companies, mountain assistants, freelance guides, airlines or hotels.
How to book and pay
- On each program’s page, the “Contact us” button goes directly to WhatsApp, with the inquiry about that program already identified.
- The Apu Aventura team replies with the complete information and confirms real availability for the requested date.
- Only if there is space, the team enables access to the payment gateway (Culqi) with the agreed amount: by payment link (for remote payment) or by POS (for in-person payment).
- The client completes the payment through the indicated method.
- Once the payment is confirmed, the corresponding receipt or invoice is issued and the booking is confirmed.
Apu Aventura confirms availability within 48 hours of the first contact.
Booking changes
Changes of date or service are subject to availability and may involve fare differences. Passenger name changes are accepted up to 7 days before the start of the service, provided that no named tickets or permits have been issued. Rescheduling is evaluated case by case.
Non-refundable costs
Any cost already paid or committed to third parties (Huascarán National Park entrance fees, community reservations, special transport, camp staff, etc.) is non-refundable in any case.
Required passenger data
To operate the service safely, each passenger is asked for: full name and nationality; ID (DNI) or passport number and date of birth; dietary restrictions; emergency contact (name and phone); relevant medical information (mandatory for camping treks and altitude activities); preferred guide language.
The identity document (DNI or passport) presented on the day of the service must match the data registered in the booking.
For passengers over 70 years old, or who do not have the appropriate health conditions for altitude activities, Apu Aventura will request a medical certificate of physical fitness before confirming their participation in the program.
Mountain operating conditions
The programs take place in a high-mountain environment. The itinerary may be adjusted due to weather conditions, route conditions, the group’s condition or the guide’s safety judgment. Safety and the quality of the experience are always the priority.
Passenger conduct and guide authority
In the field, the guide’s decision on safety, pace and itinerary is final. If a passenger puts their own safety, the group’s safety or the fulfillment of the itinerary at risk, Apu Aventura may remove them from the program at the point where it is safe to do so, with no right to a refund for the unused portion of the service.
Force majeure
In the event of circumstances beyond Apu Aventura’s control (extreme weather, route blockages, landslides or other geological events, SERNANP or other authority orders, strikes or stoppages, etc.), alternatives or rescheduling will be arranged when possible. Non-refundable costs owed to third parties cannot be absorbed by Apu Aventura.
Liability — read carefully
Apu Aventura is not responsible, directly or indirectly, for losses, damages or harm resulting from services provided by third parties outside its direct operation (transport, mountain assistant services, freelance guides, hotels or other services contracted by the client), including claims for death, personal injury, equipment failure, delays or additional expenses arising from those services.
All passengers are advised to have personal travel or medical insurance, especially since these are adventure activities in mountain environments. The costs of medical care, hospitalization or evacuation in an emergency are the responsibility of the passenger or their travel insurance.
Complaints Book
Apu Aventura has its own Virtual Complaints Book on the website, in accordance with the Consumer Protection and Defense Code. The response time is up to 30 calendar days from the filing of the complaint, extendable by an additional 30 days when the nature of the complaint justifies it.
Cancellation Policy
Applies to every confirmed (paid) booking, unless a different condition is stated in writing for a specific product.
| Notice before the start of the service | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| 45 days or more | 10% |
| 44 to 31 days | 30% |
| 30 to 16 days | 50% |
| 15 to 8 days | 80% |

All cancellation notices must be sent in writing to reservas@apuaventura.pe. Costs already paid or committed to third parties (see “Non-refundable costs” above) are non-refundable in any case, even if the cancellation charge in the table above is lower than those costs.
