Day Hike

Seven one-day hikes in the Cordillera Blanca

Day hikes run from lower to higher altitude — gentle ones first, then the high-altitude routes.

Hikers in front of a turquoise lake and snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, day hike from Caraz
  • Ideal progressionIdeally, take 3 days of this progression before a camping trek; due to time constraints, many travelers do 2.
  • AcclimatizationTravelers already acclimatized from another high-altitude destination (for example, Cusco) may need fewer.
  • ImportantNot recommended for travelers with heart or respiratory conditions, or without prior acclimatization.
  • Photography focusAny of these seven can be requested with a photography focus, adjusting the pace and stops to the light and composition.
  • Lunch or snackA field lunch or snack is an optional service on request, not included as standard.
